Making Resiliency a Priority in Schools

With seven new schools to build, Beaverton School District has decided to become an early adopter of the Oregon Resilience Plan. It retained Kent Yu and SEFT Consulting Group to work with community stakeholders to develop a resilience plan so that the schools will be safe, be available as a community shelter, and re-open with 30 days after a major event. This unique and useful collaboration resulted in a number of key resilience recommendations that represent an affordable balance between permanent and temporary solutions.
